Early Quilts

These two were my first big ‘art’ quilts. We had a couple of empty gables in the showroom of our music store, and we needed to fill them up with something that would mitigate sound. Being handy with a needle and thread, I created these quilts before I even knew what an ‘art’ quilt was! Marti Cummins, the owner of a local quilt shop (since closed) told me that “there are no rules; you can do whatever you want” and I took her at her word.Musical Mountains ~ First big quilt for the Acoustic Corner showroom, about 12 feet long.  This has since evolved into the logo for the shop.

Banjo Fish ~ Complete with accordion-playing octopus, also about 12 feet long.
